Here are some facts about Comic Books and Superheroes:

• The first comic Book edition was released in Oct. 1939. It was called “Marvel Comics #1″.
• The superhero on the first comic book was The Human Torch.
• Superman was released in 1948, 30 years before the motion picture was released.

What is it about superhero movies that make us so excited to watch them?

 It’s simple – in superhero movies the underdog always wins

In all Spiderman movies you have one very important motif – the superhero, the guy that saves the day from all the evils trying to ruin the city and the world is just a kid. He’s week, has had a hard life and even though he’s pretty smart, if he weren’t bitten by the spider on that school trip, to this day, he’d have probably remained a complete underdog with no opportunity for success.

That’s what’s so great about superhero movies like Spiderman – they make you believe that even though right now you’re at a low point in your life, especially if you weren’t born the best looking, most athletic or richest, within seconds your entire future could change and give you the opportunity to show everyone that your life doesn’t define you, you too can be extraordinary, fight for what you believe in and actually win.

The appeal of Batman movies

While Spiderman deals with the underdog, Batman movies (and Superman movies for that matter) pull at the strings of justice in all of us – for a few hours, during the movie, we know that justice will prevail, and even against the most psychotic of enemies– the good guy, the one who deserves it, will win.

That said, superhero movies have another great thing going for them – they have amazing special effects that make them so damn cool to watch!
