Weirdest Comic Book Characters

One of the reasons we love comic books so much is the cool characters.

Creators have so much freedom that leads to imagination and creativity when it comes to heroes creation, but occasionally it leads to some weired figures, that even though we are used to strange superheroes, those figures stand out.

Let’s look at some of those characters:

The Thing

, one of the Fantastic Four team, a group of four space pilots that were exposed to a radioactive cosmic dust while on a simple mission.

This radioactive dust changed their DNA form, causing everyone’s bosy react differently.

Ben Grim was effected the most when his body turned into a hugh coat of stone.

There was no appropreate name for it so they just named him “Thing”.
Since he was the only member that his appearance stood out, The Thing suffered from low self estime and anger.
He couldn’t stand how people looked at him, imcluding his own wife.

Nevertheless, The Thing is still one of most popular super heroes of all times.

Swamp Thing

This comic figure from DC made its first appearance in 1971.
A scientist name Alex Olson was studying a certain swamp.
Alex had an assistent who was fund of Alex’s wife, so he arranged an accident that made Alex fall into the swamp and turn into a monster.

Alex tried hard to change his form back with no luck. After a fail attempt to convience his wife he his who he claims, he fell into a depression and decided to stay in the swamp.

The super hero story has several versions.

The success of the Swamp Thing led to a new story that presented a scientist, this time his name was Alec Holland, that was working on a secret herb formula in the swamp, until a villain name Anton Arcane, AKA Mister A, sabotaged his work and turned Alec into a freak, scary swamp creature.

The plot shows Alec functioning as a nature Avatar, defender of nature life and ecological balance and fighting against a group called “rotting”.

Sweet Tooth

Pretty new comic series, “Sweet Tooth” got great reviews.

The story takes place in a world that is populated with both humans and hybrid creatures, half human half animals.

Guss is a 9 year old hybrid kid, living in a quite and issolated resort with his father.
He has a regular human face and deer hornes.

One day his father disappeares and hunters arrive at Guss’es cabin, looking for hunting the boy down.
Saved by a man name Jeppard Gus is rescued, but troubles keep chasing him and Jeppard, nearly killing Jeppard, but Gus managed to save his life.

He got the nick name “Sweet Tooth” after eating all Jeppard’s candies.

Together the two travel across the world, encounterring all kinds of adventures and interesting people.
